SingleStore MCP Server is an MCP server that provides tools for interacting directly with SingleStore databases. It enables database administrators, software developers, and data engineers to connect AI clients like Claude Desktop, Windsurf, or Cursor to their SingleStore instances over standard stdio or Server-Sent Events (SSE). Users can inspect schemas, run custom or read-only SQL queries, retrieve table definitions alongside sample data, and generate Mermaid-based entity relationship (ER) diagrams automatically. The server also includes capabilities to create new database tables with specific shard and sort keys, populate existing tables with synthetic test data using customizable generator rules, and analyze query execution profiles to recommend SQL performance optimizations. Connections are secured using SSL with automatic retrieval of the SingleStore CA certificate bundle.

bash npx -y @smithery/cli install @madhukarkumar/singlestore-mcp-server --client claude 3. Alternatively, clone the repository, install dependencies, and build the server manually: bash git clone https://github.com/madhukarkumar/singlestore-mcp-server cd mcp-server-singlestore npm install npm run build 4. Configure the required environment variables in your client configuration or environment: SINGLESTORE_HOST, SINGLESTORE_PORT, SINGLESTORE_USER, SINGLESTORE_PASSWORD, and SINGLESTORE_DATABASE. 5. Optionally set SSE_ENABLED=true and SSE_PORT=3333 if using the HTTP Server-Sent Events protocol instead of stdio.Part of MCP Servers
SingleStore MCP Server enables AI clients to list tables, describe schemas, run custom or read-only SQL queries, and generate Mermaid ER diagrams. It also provides tools to define new database tables with sharding options, generate and insert synthetic test records, and analyze query execution profiles to offer performance optimization recommendations.
The server supports the standard MCP protocol over stdio for clients such as Claude Desktop, Cursor, and Windsurf. It also features optional Server-Sent Events (SSE) support over HTTP, allowing web-based clients and MCP Inspector to connect and stream responses.
You can install it automatically for Claude Desktop using Smithery by running npx -y @smithery/cli install @madhukarkumar/singlestore-mcp-server --client claude. Alternatively, clone the GitHub repository, install packages with npm install, run npm run build, and provide the required SingleStore database connection credentials via environment variables.
You must set SINGLESTORE_HOST, SINGLESTORE_PORT, SINGLESTORE_USER, SINGLESTORE_PASSWORD, and SINGLESTORE_DATABASE. Optionally, you can set SSE_ENABLED to true and configure SSE_PORT if you want to run the server over HTTP SSE rather than standard input and output.
