SABIS MCP Server is an MCP server that connects AI assistants to the Sakarya University SABIS student information system using automated web scraping. Built for Sakarya University students, researchers, and developers, this server allows Model Context Protocol clients such as Claude and Cursor to query student accounts and access academic records directly within conversational workflows. The system runs Puppeteer to automate headless browser navigation, authenticate against the university portal with user-provided credentials, and extract structured academic data in real time. Through this connection, users can check their course registrations, view midterm and final assessment scores, inspect grading weights, review homework or quiz marks, and inspect calculated final letter grades. Because data is scraped on demand directly from the live SABIS portal without being persisted to an external database, student records remain ephemeral and confined to the local MCP runtime environment. This server simplifies tracking academic progress by translating raw portal tables into readable assessment breakdowns for automated analysis and conversation.

bash git clone https://github.com/hanifisenturk/sabis-mcp-server.git cd sabis-mcp-server 2. Install project dependencies: bash npm install 3. Compile the TypeScript source: bash npm run build 4. Add the server to your MCP client configuration (such as Claude Desktop or Cursor): json { "mcpServers": { "sabis-mcp-server": { "command": "node", "args": [ "/path/to/sabis-mcp-server/build/index.js" ], "env": { "USERNAME": "your_student_number", "PASSWORD": "your_password" } } } } Alternatively, set up a .env file containing USERNAME and PASSWORD in the root directory and omit the env object from your client configuration.Part of MCP Servers
Clone the repository from GitHub and install dependencies using npm install. Compile the TypeScript source code by running npm run build. Provide your Sakarya University student credentials through a local .env file or declare USERNAME and PASSWORD directly in the environment variables block of your MCP client configuration file before launching the server.
The server provides the get-grades tool, which automates logging into the Sakarya University SABIS portal via Puppeteer. It parses the active semester's course catalog to retrieve course codes, subject titles, evaluation components like midterms, homework, and finals, assessment percentages, and final letter grades.
Any client supporting the Model Context Protocol can interface with this server, including Claude Desktop and Cursor. The server communicates via standard input and output by launching a Node.js process pointing to the compiled index.js build file.
Yes, SABIS MCP Server is open source and licensed under the ISC License. The complete source code, written in TypeScript with Puppeteer automation, is accessible on GitHub for personal and educational use.
No, the server operates headlessly and does not save credentials or grade data to external storage. Credentials remain locally inside your environment variables or local .env file, while student grades are fetched in real time directly from the live university portal over secure HTTPS connections.
