Research MCP Server is an MCP server that integrates Notion workspaces with Model Context Protocol clients like Claude Desktop to manage structured research data. It connects directly to the Notion API, allowing users to query existing survey databases and automatically generate new survey documentation pages without leaving their AI chat interface. Knowledge workers, product managers, and researchers use this tool to centralize findings and record qualitative or quantitative research results systematically. By exposing Notion retrieval and page creation capabilities as standardized tools, the server enables language models to process user prompts, fetch relevant historical entries, and write structured survey summaries directly into designated Notion databases. This workflow reduces manual data copying between AI conversations and team documentation, keeping project knowledge synchronized and organized.

Research MCP Server is a Model Context Protocol tool that links Notion databases to AI clients such as Claude Desktop. It provides endpoints for retrieving survey records and writing newly synthesized survey findings into Notion pages.
You need Python version 3.12.1 or higher, uv version 0.5.25 or higher, Claude Desktop, and a Notion integration token paired with a target database ID.
You configure credentials by creating a .env file in the root of the cloned repository. Add your Notion integration secret as NOTION_TOKEN and your database identifier as NOTION_ROOT_DATABASE_ID.
The server is documented for use with Claude Desktop via the claude_desktop.json configuration file. It can also run with any other client that supports local stdio MCP server execution through the uv runner.
