Mcp Vibecoder is an MCP server that provides a structured software development workflow for LLM-based coding. It connects local development environments and MCP clients to an organized framework for feature clarification, planning, and task execution. Software engineers and developers use this server to keep AI coding assistants on track during complex implementation tasks. The server enables LLMs to ask guided clarification questions, generate Product Requirements Documents and implementation plans, divide features into logical development phases, and monitor completion progress across individual tasks. It features a hybrid document storage mechanism that saves PRDs and execution plans directly to disk while keeping in-memory copies accessible for fast retrieval. By offering dedicated tools for phase creation, task status management, and next-action recommendations, Mcp Vibecoder transforms conversational coding into an inspectable, step-by-step software delivery process.

npm install. 2. Build the project by running npm run build. 3. Open your Claude Desktop configuration file (located at ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json on macOS or %APPDATA%/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json on Windows). 4. Add the server entry to your configuration: json { "mcpServers": { "vibe-coder-mcp": { "command": "/path/to/vibe-coder-mcp/build/mcp-server.js" } } } 5. Replace /path/to/vibe-coder-mcp with your actual local build path and restart Claude Desktop.Part of MCP Servers
Mcp Vibecoder provides tools and resources to structure LLM coding workflows. It handles interactive feature clarification, generates PRDs and implementation plans, organizes tasks into sequential phases, tracks implementation progress, and stores documentation locally in Markdown format.
Clone the repository from GitHub, run npm install to install dependencies, and build the project with npm run build. Then, register the built mcp-server.js file under the mcpServers key in your Claude Desktop configuration file.
Mcp Vibecoder works with standard Model Context Protocol clients that communicate over stdio, including Claude Desktop on macOS and Windows, as well as the official MCP Inspector debugging tool.
By default, the server writes documents to the documents directory indexed by feature ID, creating prd.md and implementation-plan.md files. It also provides a save_document tool to write files to custom file paths.
